 Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This blog, digitalhealth.vip, shares commentary and research digests on digital health, health informatics and healthcare interoperability. It is run by Dr Susith Athukorala as a personal, non-commercial site. This page explains what information is collected when you visit, and how it is used.

What I collect

I do not ask you to create an account, and I do not collect your name, email address or other personal details unless you choose to share them with me, for example by leaving a comment or emailing me.

Blogger and Google

This blog is hosted on Blogger, a service owned by Google. Like all Blogger sites, Google may collect basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you view. Google may also use cookies. This information is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), not by me. I do not have access to information that identifies individual visitors.

Comments

If you leave a comment, it is processed by Blogger. Depending on the comment settings, your Google account name or the name you enter will be shown publicly with your comment. Please do not include personal health information in comments. I may remove comments that are offensive, off-topic or that share private information.

Images

Cover photos on posts come from Unsplash (https://unsplash.com). They load from Unsplash’s servers, so your browser connects to Unsplash when you view a post with a photo. Unsplash’s handling of that connection is covered by its own privacy policy (https://unsplash.com/privacy).

Links to other sites

Posts often link to research papers, journals and other websites. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and I encourage you to read their policies.

How content is prepared

Some posts are research digests drafted with the help of AI tools from published abstracts, then checked and edited by me before publication. No reader information is used in this process.

Not medical advice

Content on this blog is for education and discussion only. It is not medical advice and should not replace advice from a qualified health professional about your own care.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do. If you have shared information with me directly and would like it removed, please contact me and I will do so.

Changes to this policy

I may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
